The Utrechtse Heuvelrug has recently become the habitat of wolves.
Because this is a protected species and incidents with wolves have taken place, the Den Treek landscape has closed off a part, the core area, to the public.
The part where we hold the time trial on Tuesday morning is officially still open but is directly adjacent to the closed core area.
The official bodies such as Municipalities and Province advise against entering this area with (small) children. As an organization, we think it is important that the riders of our event can race safely on the chosen course.
We have therefore decided to cancel the mountain time trial on Tuesday morning the 13th of August and to replace it with an individual time trial at cycling club Eemland in Amersfoort. Further information will follow.
Thursday morning’s mountain time trial will continue as usual for the time being.
